Simex SLC-94 is a panel-mount timer and totalizer with START/STOP pulse inputs, dual reset sources and RS-485/Modbus RTU communication. The SLC-94, produced by Simex, is designed for precision time (period) measurements, such as the duration of a time interval or the accumulated operating time of a machine. Signals from push-buttons or from the contactors of control devices are wired to terminals on the rear of the counter. When correctly programmed, the counter measures the time period between a START and a STOP signal; an alternative configuration measures the total activity time of the START signal. Measurement can be started, stopped and cleared from the local keyboard on the front of the device or remotely over the RS-485 interface. Alongside the main timer, a totalizer is also available, with both counters triggered and stopped simultaneously. Time counting operates across a range from 0 ms to 999 99.9 hours, and the two built-in relay outputs allow the counter to be used for control in a wide range of time-dependent processes.

Precision and Presentation Formats
The SLC-94 offers a wide range of precision and presentation formats, with a resolution of 1 ms and an input sampling frequency of 10 kHz or higher. The minimum time between input signal edges is 500 µs. Values are shown on a red LED display with 6 digits, 13 mm high, with brightness adjustable across 8 steps.

Inputs and Outputs
Four galvanically isolated pulse inputs are provided: start counting (START), stop counting (STOP), counter reset (RESET) and common (COM). Input levels are 0 to 1 V for a low state and 10 to 30 V for a high state (12 mA at 24 V). The unit can be supplied with no outputs or with 2 outputs, configured either as relays (max. 1 A, 30 VDC/250 VAC) or as open collector (max. 30 mA, 30 VDC, 100 mW). A stabilised 24 VDC power supply output rated at max. 100 mA is available for driving the input signals.

Configuration and Options
The SLC-94 is stocked in the configuration with 2 Relay Outputs, power supply of 85 to 260 V AC/DC and with the IP65 Front Frame option. Supply voltage variants of 24 V AC/DC, and 12 V AC/DC are available – refer to the code chart.
