The New-Flow DT141 is a plastic thread-type diaphragm seal that isolates pressure gauges, pressure switches and pressure transmitters from corrosive or dirty process media. The seal’s PVC housing and EPDM-with-PTFE-foil membrane form a chemical barrier between the instrument and the process, so the connected gauge, switch or transmitter reads true process pressure without direct product contact. A dedicated filling port for filling of glycerine or oil and the DT141 threads directly in between the process connection and the instrument’s own threaded connection.

Chemical Isolation
The upper and lower housing are moulded in PVC as standard, with PVDF or CPVC available on request for stronger acids, solvents or higher-temperature media. An EPDM membrane covered with a PTFE foil separates the process side from the instrument side, combining EPDM’s flexibility with PTFE’s broad chemical resistance so the seal can be matched to acidic, caustic or otherwise corrosive fluids without exposing the gauge, switch or transmitter to direct contact.

Construction and Filling
The two-piece housing is held together with an O-ring seal at the membrane, and a dedicated filling port allows the instrument-side cavity to be filled with glycerine or a similar fluid for transfer of the pressure from the process to the instrument. Maximum operating temperature is 40°C, and the seal is rated to the same 0–2.5 to 10 bar (2″/63mm dial) or 0–4 to 10 bar (4″/4½” dial) ranges as the gauge it protects.

Flexible Connections
Both the instrument connection and the process connection are female thread and available from 1/4″ to 1/2″ in BSP or NPT, so the DT141 can be ordered to match whichever gauge, switch or transmitter thread and whichever process tapping is already in place – refer to the code chart below to configure a complete part number.
