Elettrosonda Q

Conductive based level controllers with high, low and variable sensitivities in DIN rail mount configuration. The Elettrosonda Q series, produced by MAC3, are regulators of conductive fluid suitable for the High and Low level control of wells, tanks, cisterns etc. The operating principle is based on the detection, on the part of the control box, of the fluid resistance between the probes immersed in the liquid. The lowest acting as a common element and the upper and middle acting as the control points for Stop & Start. When the level of the liquid inside the container or the well wets all three probes a relay is activated and subsequently deactivated only when the level descends, uncovering the middle probe providing an adjustable distance between the stop and start level positions.

 

Models NS (Normal Sensitivity)

In the case of wells with a diameter less than 100mm the NS model probes should be positioned in such a way that there is not more than 2m between the lowest and the highest (sufficient to protect the pump). For wells with a larger diameter, the probes can be set at a greater distance and there are no limits for tanks. Liquids with a total resistance of up 5.6 Kohm between the probes can be controlled with the NS version. The control box can be located at a distance of up to 1,000m from the probes.

 

Models AS (High Sensitivity)

The AS is for liquids with low conductivity, such as rainwater. The AS version can work with liquids with a total resistance of up 68 Kohm between the probes.

 

Models SR (Adjustable Sensitivity)

The SR is for the control of conductive liquids with unknown conductivity. This version can work with liquids with a total resistance of 0 to 100 Kohm between the probes.

 

The Elettrosonda Q is supplied with 3 Single Immersion probes (High, Low and Common). A triple electrode holder for use with SS Rods is also available for separate purchase.

Typical Application Areas:

Conductive liquid level control in water supply wells, pump stations, rainwater tanks, cisterns, holding tanks and process vessels. The NS model suits general-purpose applications with mains water, bore water and most process liquids; the AS model is suited to low-conductivity liquids such as rainwater harvesting systems; and the SR model covers applications where liquid conductivity is unknown or variable. Commonly used to automate pump start/stop control based on high and low level positions, with the adjustable differential between stop and start levels making it adaptable to a wide range of tank geometries and pump protection requirements. Also applicable to industrial process tanks, irrigation storage, greywater systems and building services water management.
