FASC stainless steel cable float level switch with SPDT reed switch contact is suitable for high-temperature liquids, up to 125 °C. The FAS series, produced by FineTek, uses a metal float with an internal sliding ball that trips a reed switch as the float tilts through its actuation angle. When the liquid level rises and lifts the float past the actuation angle, the contact changes state and signals ON or OFF to the connected control circuit. The SUS304 construction and silicone cable suit the FASC to hot solutions where plastic floats would not hold up, and the sealed IP68 body allows full submersion. The suffix “C” denotes the SPDT (single changeover) contact form.
The actuation angle is up to 45° on the upstroke and 30° on the downstroke. The specific gravity threshold is 0.5, so the float is also suitable many lighter liquids.
Reed Switch Contact
The FASC uses a reed switch rather than a micro switch, which FineTek recommends for PLC or DCS control applications. The contact can carry up to 1 A at 240 V AC or 200 V DC, with a 30 W switching capacity. The SPDT form provides both normally open and normally closed paths through a common terminal. Reed contacts offer clean, bounce-limited switching well suited to logic inputs. The reed switch is also suitable for use with and IS barrier enabling the FAS to be used in hazardous environments (Ex ia). We can offer an IS barrier certified to IECEX standards, if required.
Cable Float Weight (CF-SUS-W)
The FASW stainless steel cable weight is available as an optional extra for the FASC. The weight fixes the float’s pivot point on the cable, which sets the switching level and keeps the float clear of turbulence or pump inlets during operation. The FASW is a SUS304 component weighing approximately 1.8 kg, matching the stainless steel construction of the FASC float for consistent high-temperature and chemical resistance.
